It’s been a while since I showed an outfit (basically since I have ‘mum’ style at the moment) But I just had to show off my new yellow cardigan and pink socks by H&M. SO bright and happy colour!!
By the way I haven’t gotten the self portrait thing in order on my new camera so it’s in the mirror again….that’s why you can only see the top of the cardigan as I discovered that my purple Papfar’s pige top I’m wearing has some baby spit up (oops…it’s not easy to try to be stylish at the moment)

Drinking a cup of good morning coffee, outside in the morning sun while the baby naps and I get a stitch or two in on my left over blanket. Bliss

Today is Vaffeldagen, Waffle Day in Sweden and Norway. It used to be a holiday, and was called Vårfrudagen (=Our lady day), in honour of the Virgin Mary – as it’s celebrated nine months before the birth of Christ. Dialect corruption gave the name Våfferdagen, which later turned into the modern Våffeldagen (in Swedish) or Vaffeldagen (in Norwegian). Nowadays it’s a good excuse to celebrate springtime by eating lovely heart shaped waffles.
I love waffles, it’s a keen childhood memory, something I ate a lot when I used to be a part of a volunteer radio station in Oslo as a teenager (if you’re ever in Oslo you should try the best waffles in town, you can get it in the former squat Blitz and should still cost only 5 kr) and nowadays is a reminder of home. I love it especially with Norwegian brown cheese (see picture)
Brilliant waffles
2 eggs
1 dl sugar
2 dl buttermilk
1 ½ dl milk (full fat)
1 dl water
350 g all purpose flour
1 tea spoon baking powder
½ tea spoon baking soda
1 tea spoon vanilla sugar
½ tea spoon cardamom
125 g melted butter
I have added some Waffle related pins on my food pinboard
I dag er det Vaffeldagen i Norge og Sverige. Jeg skal selvsagt feire det men å lage vaffler etter Sjømannskirka i Københavns oppskrift (de er nesten like gode som de man får/fikk på Blitz i Oslo)

Oppskriften:
2 egg
1 dl sukker
2 dl kærnemelk (skummet kulturmelk)
1 ½ dl melk (h-melk)
1 dl vann
350 g hvetemel
1 ts bakepulver
½ ts natron
1 ts vaniljesukker
½ ts kardemomme
125 g smeltet smør
PS Planlegger du at feire Vaffeldagen i dag?

{this moment} – A Friday ritual. A single photo – no words – capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.
For all the other moments go to Soulemama.

Outside the window the baby sleeps. Inside the cafe, nursing my first cup of (must needed) latte I sit quietly and wait for my friend.

She arrive, baby in her arms grabs a quick cup chai, we chat a bit, the baby sits in the window looking out before she hastily moves on – the baby demands a trip in the stroller.

My baby wakes up so I walk with her, pushing my baby in his stroller around the park. Enjoying the ray of sun that warms up. Feel like a pure shot of energy after the long winter.
