{What I wore} When I was pregnant

The little man – my sweet sweet LittleA, is sleeping – actually snoring in his sling crib with a little milk moustache. Amazing to think that he’s 6 weeks already – and gained 1 kg since he was born – so already 5kg and big boy. He has started to smile and have been a bit mischievous (yesterday he peed on me while I changed him….). I love being home with him, sing old songs and go for walks in the neighbourhood (popping by the local chocolate place….seem to be addicted).

I’ve had a look at old photos, planning to get some developed and add to a album. Strange to see photos of me with the bump – so much has happened already. But I thought I could do a different ‘What I Wore Wednesday’ linking up with The Pleated Poppy- showing off pictures with me being pregnant.

February, this photo was taken two days after I heard the very surprised message from the doctor: ‘But you’re already pregnant’. The week after we saw his tiny heart beating on the screen – amazing and I wanted to shout it on the rooftops.
March – I’m having morning sickness, the scanning has shown us a tiny tiny perfect baby, just 2 cm long. I have started to have problems finding comfortable clothing, prefer eating cheeseburgers or sushi.April/ Easter – We’re over the first trimester. The scanning shows a healthy baby due in October (we could even see all the heart chambers). The morning sickness is nearly over and I have a belly to show (although I wasn’t “official” pregnant on the blog yet) I’ve started knitting on a blanket for the baby in the belly. May – It’s going to be a boy!!! Even I, with no health education, could see it on the screen. Everything is going well, I’m so proud of my bump and happy to show it off on the blog:

June: We have heard his heart beat! Just such a fantastic sound. I’ve stared to feel the weight of the bump when using the stairs, being very happy that my office has an elevator. I’m visiting my sister in law in Belgium (so many stairs) and flying for the last time this year. August – the little boy is kicking, I’m counting down to maternity leave, we have bought his pram and I’ve started planning his nursery: September – just weeks left, I’m on maternity leave, got my pictures taken by the lovely Fussell couple.
October – just 3 days before my baby arrives. I have problems walking far (but manage somehow to walk to the ice cream shop almost every day), have only got one pair of pants that I can wear (I have to jank it up every time I get up). When this picture was taken I knew the date the doctors would start the birth – so strange to know….and exciting too

Bye bye bump

It feel very strange. Knowing the date he’ll arrive and that the bump will be gone. So this weekend we have been out enjoying the sunshine and the Indian summer here in Copenhagen. gone for walks, very slow ones with me walking like a duck and being out of breath just in time to sit down when we reach our local ice cream “pusher” by the park (very conveniently don’t you think ?).
And just wondered how it’ll be. Becoming parents, walking around with a pram. Loosing the bump, getting a son. How long will it take? How will it be?
This is the last day with the bump.

Nyt været – sommervarmt i København i helgen.

My {amazing} baby shower

Hi everyone, I hope you are well and have had a good weekend. Saturday my good friend Tina threw me an amazing baby shower. It was so nice to have all my friends gathered, eat cupcakes and more while talking about…oh well babies and giving birth. Quote ‘The one that invented the term the happy 9 months has to be a man‘ It was so nice, getting loads of attention, seeing all my closes friends and of cause getting some presents for the baby. Now I’m just going the relax, incubate and wait. PS Also got the maternity shoot pictures, you can see a sneaky peak on one of these photos – I will show you more soon!
PS Tina will have some more and better pictures on her blog soon.

Quiet before the storm

I love these dark evenings, when I can see the flame of my candles dancing in the window, finally cold enough to snuggle up in a cardigan, with Leia the cat next too me and drink a huge cup of hot tea – while listening to the rain drumming outside. Simply enjoying the quietness before the storm. Before my life will be turned upside down.

Perhaps he will arrive before the leaves change. Perhaps before our second anniversary.
Maybe not.

All I can do is to get prepared.
As well as I can.
