We have been celebrating his first birthday all weekend – with aunts, grandparents and cake (it says “Congratulations” in Danish on the cake). A hasn’t understand the concept of unwrapping but loved all the attention, the cake and the presents (unwrapped by mum). In short a super weekend!

We had indian summer in Copenhagen, I had gone on maternity leave, just had my maternity shoot with Tina and Jack Fussell at the lovely newly open Torvehallerne downtown Copenhagen. I waited for my sister to arrive from Oslo for my baby shower. We celebrated our last anniversary before becoming a mum and a dad. I was in and out of the hospital for check ups, knitting like crazy, eating ice cream and saying good-bye to the bump.

Now A is nearly one year old (just some weeks to go now), we’ve moved him to his new room and last night he slept for 13 hours straight! A run around with his walker, hope that he can walk soon as he is a big boy. He still loves nursery, kicking in happiness when we walk up the stairs. I’m planning his first birthday party, excited.

Copenhagen is on the brink of fall. Cool in the air and warm in the sun. I never know what do wear or if its time for wool underwear.
A is happy, eleven months old now. Already he has started to be independent, trying to eat his morning porridge with a spoon, getting it all over, smiling. Still very much in love with the cat, but she is more reluctant.
A loves riding on the back of my bike back and forth to nursery. Smiling, talking and kicking in happiness. He loves it there. Comes home with sand everywhere.
Soon he’ll be one, ONE!

Can’t believe that he is ten months already – crawling, singing, dancing and charming Little A. And pulling himself up all the time, getting up at six every day (if we are lucky), testing edges, stairs, walkers – he is a busy little one. He loves the vacuum machine, shoes, belts, ice cream, when I sing, wheels, my handbags and everything that’s not a toy. Very independent, so I live for the little evening time cuddles, when my little explorer can finally sit still for a minute or two.
A – you are like a whirlwind, mamma love you to the moon and back.
And Monday you start nursery and a new chapter in our life begins.

oh what a week! The little man’s first holiday ever and I know he had enjoyed it. A whirlwind of firsts. We’ve been to a summerhouse with two of his second cousins all under the age of two. He has played, discovered how to pull himself up just against a plain wall, tasted ice cream – laughing and shivering in happiness. And just now he has tested granddads big truck.
My week has also included knitting and taking photos for the upcoming Wool Rocks knitting school and yeah I finally got myself some new shoes ( still hooked on green)
This weekend we’re still in Denmark before heading off to Norway and the next set of grandparents on Monday. I hope you are enjoying your holiday as much as we are.
