Random acts of love
22. July 2011 a day that will burn in my mind for ever. It was summer. I went by my husbands work when he told me about the bomb in Oslo. I was in shock. And the shock only got worse. Later, glued to my tv, I checked Facebook and saw the message: “don’t call the people at Utøya, It’s a gun man there”. I thought it was a mad man, shooting in the air. I was right about the mad man.
And then I read about Juliane, she lost her best friend that horrible day. But she tries to show the world love with little gifts left at the metro in Oslo, with a note. Yesterday she bought a random stranger a cup of coffee and today I plan to do the same – a random act of love.
Because love is all around. Give the love. To Quote Juliane: BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD
Update: this morning, a bit scared, I walk down to Coffee Collective for my morning cup of java. I explained to the barista that I wanted to pay for two cups and that he was giving the next person that ordered the same as me a free cup. I also explained why. After I really wanted to sit and wait for the person that was getting the free cup to see his or her face….but I didn’t. I didn’t want the praise although I can’t help bragging a bit here and on Facebook. But I do hope I inspire someone somewhere to do the same.
