Post image for {Winter solstice} light

Taking Little A on a walk outside in the winter sunshine. North of Denmark feels a bit like Norway with the cold still air. I’m in my new owl jumper enjoying the winter solstice lights.

Post image for Tasting {Xmas Schnaps}

Yes it’s time to harvest that Danish Christmas Schnaps. If you, like me, started in the beginning of November – then the Schnaps is ready! Simply sift it through a coffee filter, and enjoy the amber colour and the round taste with a clear hint of orange.

Post image for Good morning from the Danish countryside

Little A and me has started our Xmas holiday. We’re at his Danish grandparents, in the north of Denmark, out in the countryside – getting ready for a big ol’ Danish Christmas. This morning we got up at 7 and discovered that grandma already had two cakes in the oven, started making a traditional sausage [...]

Post image for {Neon} Xmas

A little bit of Xmas trend spotting to day – neon, acrylic and bright colors. Personally I’m a very traditional Xmas person – reds, whites, snowflakes, candles, hearts, stars and so on – but it is fun that some people experiment. What Xmas type are you – traditional or modern? 1. Snowflake by Apfelstrudel 2-3. [...]

Post image for {Handmade bloggers} Kirkesjov

I met so many nice people on the marked Saturday, so I’ve decided to spread the love by sharing some every day. Some are from crafters/ bloggers that are new to me but I’ll also include bloggers I’ve mention before.
First up is Kirkesjov. She mixes retro fabric with crochet and more. Kirkesjov is also a part of Designkartellet – so I’ll show more of her things later this summer to (have to return to that shop!)

I’ve been to the Forårsmarked/ Spring marked in Odense during the weekend. And what a marked! So many lovely people, plenty of space to move around and see everything. I was so excited, jumped for joy so many times.

I do hope you like it, perhaps you would like to suggest someone that I should interview or perhaps you would like to be interviewed? [...]

That’s why I have this Tuesday theme, to be able to ‘meet’ the people I admire, mainly over mail but still I get inspired. Perhaps one day I’ll be one of those bold people selling my own things. This weeks Handmade person [...]

I love Christmas, the smells, the decorations, the food and the drink. Today I’ve started transforming a basic aquavit to delicious Christmas snaps – and I’m so happy to start doing Christmas things. But relax I wouldn’t be totally Christmassy for the next 40 days….but there will be some tales of my Danish/ Norwegian Christmas preparations.

A short bike ride from the town centre (Nyhavn) past many of the most beautiful buildings in the Danish capital, just a cross the beautiful Knipple bridge you’ll find the old workers area Christianshavn. This is an area full of little green lungs, narrow colourful houses, bars by the channels, small shops, houseboats and community [...]
